The College of Media at Warith Al-Anbiya University (peace be upon him) participated in the scientific symposium entitled “Media as a tool of conflict: Analyzing the role of digital media platforms in regional conflicts,” which was held at the Center for Studies and Research at the University of Karbala, in the presence of a select group of academics, media professionals and specialists.

The college was represented at this seminar by the Dean of the College of Media, Dr. Muhammad Jamal Al-Taif, along with the researcher and media professional Ma’ather Talib, who presented an in-depth lecture on the new role of the media in contemporary conflicts.

The two lecturers emphasized in their presentation that the media is no longer just a means of conveying the facts of the conflict, but has become an active partner in creating it, noting that digital platforms no longer just reflect reality, but reshape it, and may push it towards further escalation through conflicting narratives managed by the logic of influence, far from objective truth.

The seminar was moderated by Professor Diaa Mazhar, who praised the high academic level of the speakers and the importance of the topic, which addresses the major transformations in the current digital media landscape.
